It will push the front of the tractor sideways before it will roll as much as you want it to. You aren't going to roll a big windrow with it like a grader anyway. 6 way is okay for finish work but that's about it. In my opinion that's about two sizes too big a machine for a PAT blade. How are the bushings and pins? Sprockets? May be about ready for a complete undercarriage re-build, and they get pricy. Grousers look pretty well worn down on that first pictured tractor with the cab. The winch is strong but can have some holding issues at maxxed out load. They run with our oilfield D6s with no problem. Am a red man but would buy one in a minute.

SemiU long time having to replace parts except push arm.Go run both then pick.Check the spec and the semiU will be close to 2 yards more dirt capacity. If your just wanting to smooth up 6-war serious dirt moving semi UBeen dozing for 40years plus here.By the way D6R would be my choice! Your like the semiU when it comes to replacing the wore out trunnions and balls.Go look at one.Dirt is always round off the ends witht he 6-way.Got both.if you doing finish work 6-way is okay but if moving dirt or clearing semi U.Pat same as 6-way. What is a PAT blade? Is that the same as 6 way? The excavator will do the actual knocking down and piling. I guess a semi U will carry dirt farther if you want to spread it out more, right? If we do any brush or woods work, it will just be pushing loose piles. We want the 6 way for grading off to the side. Is the semi U the one with the supports outside the tracks? That does look considerably stronger, but I don't really want that. The amount of water and rainfall you, probably makes them much larger than I'm used too. Really, for much tree work, I've gotten to where I prefer a trackhoe. If your going to be doing quite a bit of work in and around trees, then the risers would be a consideration. Have done that type of work with smaller units than that. I think John Deere makes a good dozer seeing more around me all the time. If your going to doze in heavy timber I wouldn't want the 6 way blade its aright for dirt work and small timber. I always heard them called brush guard, don't know if thats the right name what JD uses. The one we're looking at doesn't have them, but we think we need them. I always thought they were called limb risers, or sweeps, but I can't find them on the Deere parts website. Maybe thats not as light duty as I think. Pushing back spoils after excavating ditches, fixing waterways, building swails, mostly easy stuff. Not sure those would be big enough for dirt work. My bil has been running a 700 or 750 pushing trees, he likes the hydro over gears. Getting to be more Deere in the oilfield.
